The project involved the removal of the original combustible render system, which was replaced with a non-combustible Wetherby Wall Systems Stone Wool Silicone External Wall Insulated Render system.
Within the central atrium, the works included the installation of new firestopping to all service penetrations into apartments and above fire door heads, the upgrade of the smoke shaft, the installation of steel ductwork to existing soffits, and the fitting of fire-rated access hatches to improve inspection and maintenance access.
The final phase focused on all four external elevations, where the existing spandrel panels were removed and replaced with a non-combustible system. This also involved the sleeving of vents, the installation of horizontal fire barriers at slab levels between the first and third floors, and the addition of vertical fire barriers at party wall locations.
The works were carefully planned and delivered in phases to ensure continuous access for residents, as well as for the basement car park and the ground-floor retail unit, while maintaining safety and minimising disruption throughout the project.
